Catalogue note

An original-looking 1995 two-sided Es Paradis Terrenal 'Privé' promotional print from Sant Antoni de Portmany, Ibiza, labelled 'NOT FOR SALE / PROHIBIDA SU VENTA'. Its burgundy and cyan graphic treatment reuses a cropped image of Bouguereau's 1890 Cupid and Psyche as Children, above the Es circular stars logo, year and 'PRIVE'. A large, unexplained blue-ink mark appears on the pale reverse. A historical DJ tape-digitisation directory separately indexes 'Es paradis terrenal (Portmany, Ibiza) - Prive 1995' as two audio files, A and B; this raises a credible connection to promotional audio but does NOT verify that the photographed object is its original sleeve, that a tape is present, or that it conveyed VIP entry. The original club opened 1975 and acquired its pyramid roof in 1990, making the print an evocative mid-1990s artefact of Ibiza's club culture and art borrowing.

Advertised programme: No DJs, live performers or track titles printed. External tape-digitisation listing has two similarly named 1995 A/B audio files, with no performer or soundtrack identification and no proof this physical print is a cassette sleeve.

Graphic-design significance: Cropped sepia reproduction of William-Adolphe Bouguereau's 1890 Cupid-and-Psyche children image within cyan hairline border; deliberately classical romantic picture contrasts burgundy poster-like surrounding panel, lowercase 'es paradis terrenal / Portmany Ibiza' typography, blue Es star-circle symbol and flanking 1995/PRIVE letters. Reverse stark bilingual NOT FOR SALE / PROHIBIDA SU VENTA and unexplained hand-drawn blue ink. Design/rights/producer attribution beyond painting source unverified.

Historical context: Es Paradis was founded in Sant Antoni in 1975 by Pepe Aguirre and visual artist Lluís Güell, initially open-air; its official history dates enclosed retractable pyramid to noise-control regulations around 1990. 'Privé' can imply private/VIP or a branded programme, and later club descriptions name VIP areas with Privé, but no admission privilege is printed on this 1995 item. Digitisation catalogue separately lists Es Paradis Terrenal Portmany Privé 1995 A/B music files, a rare matching audio clue without physical sleeve identity or DJ attribution. A different collector-archived Es Paradis flyer from July 1993 is credited to C. Genicio, not attributable to this 1995 piece. Source painting is Bouguereau's L'Amour et Psyché, enfants (1890), and the 1995 graphic designer is unnamed.

Production note: Colour print front and black type on off-white reverse with apparent additional blue pen. Printing technique, paper finish/thickness unverified.

Condition note: Good to Very Good from supplied front/reverse: solid image and legible lettering, minor corner/edge rubbing and surface abrasion, lightly aged/marked pale reverse with a conspicuous blue-ink signature-like freehand flourish. Its source, meaning or writer unverified; preserve as a mark, not authenticated autograph. No evident major tear, pinhole or loss.

Confidence / uncertainty: PHYSICAL: original 1995 year, club name Portmany Ibiza, Privé, not-for-sale bilingual notice, two cherubs/cover, blue-ink pen-like mark. INDEPENDENT: official club's foundation/architecture; Bouguereau 1890 image identification; two exact-title A/B historical audio file entries. UNKNOWN: cassette/pass/card purpose, identity and date of freehand mark, specific DJ, licensing/art design, issue month, original tape medium, dimensions, run, rarity and Market Value.
