Liverpool Football Club officially came into existence on 3 June 1892 after John Houlding’s split with Everton left Anfield without a resident club. Over time Liverpool developed into one of the most internationally recognised English clubs, with its crest, colours, players and supporter culture reproduced across an enormous range of media and collectibles.
Why it matters
Within TMR, Liverpool FC is treated as a cultural organisation as well as a sporting one: trading cards preserve player imagery, commercial licensing, fan memory and the visual history of football collecting.
