The Powerhaus
London live-music venue associated with promoter Vince Power and the Mean Fiddler organisation, operating in Islington around the turn of the 1990s.
The Powerhaus
The Powerhaus in Islington was one of Vince Power’s expanding network of London music venues and hosted a broad range of rock, alternative and independent acts. Contemporary recollections place its opening in 1988/89, with the venue becoming part of the live circuit used by emerging and established bands before closing in the mid-1990s.
Why it matters
For TMR, the Powerhaus functions as a geographical anchor: flyers or other ephemera connected to the venue document not just an event but the physical infrastructure through which London music culture circulated.
