Biography
Person.
Lynval Golding is a guitarist, singer and songwriter associated with the Specials and the British 2 Tone movement. His rhythm guitar and vocals formed part of the Specials' combination of ska, reggae and contemporary British social commentary.
After leaving the group, he formed Fun Boy Three with Terry Hall and Neville Staple in 1981. Golding later returned to the Specials and worked with Hall, Horace Panter and keyboard player Nikolaj Torp Larsen on Encore, their 2019 album. In discussing that record, he described dance music and a social message as continuing, inseparable parts of the band's purpose.
