Biography
Person.
Steve Oliff is an American comics colourist whose studio, Olyoptics, helped establish digital colour as a major part of comic-book production. His work on the English-language edition of Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira was particularly influential in bringing computer-based colouring into mainstream publishing.
His credits include The Death of Captain Marvel, X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills, Spawn and The Maxx. Working across hand-painted colour guides, separations and digital systems, Oliff helped change both the appearance of printed comics and the processes used to make them. Olyoptics subsequently handled a substantial share of the early Image Comics line.
