Biography
Person.
Elijah Wood is an American actor and producer whose transition from child performer to international star was defined by his casting as Frodo Baggins in Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Wood had already built a substantial screen career before Middle-earth, appearing in films including Avalon, The Good Son, The Ice Storm and Deep Impact, but The Fellowship of the Ring in 2001 placed him at the emotional centre of one of the largest and most technically ambitious film productions of its era.
Rather than remain within blockbuster fantasy, Wood’s later work deliberately moved across independent film, animation, horror and television, including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Sin City and more unusual genre projects, while he also became involved in production through SpectreVision.
