Prince William

Prince William, the Prince of Wales, is the elder son of King Charles III and Diana, Princess of Wales. Born in 1982, he became heir to the British throne and was made Prince of Wales following his father’s accession in 2022. His public work includes conservation and environmental initiatives, among them United for Wildlife and the Earthshot Prize.

William became president of BAFTA in February 2010, continuing the royal family’s association with the organisation. That role connects his public duties with Britain’s film, television and games industries, through awards ceremonies and support for the people working in screen culture.
