Biography
Person.
Moby is an American musician, producer and DJ whose work developed from punk and underground dance music. His 1991 single Go, which sampled the theme from Twin Peaks, became an international rave record. Albums including Everything Is Wrong and Animal Rights explored the relationship between electronic production and his punk background.
Play, released in 1999, brought his music to a much wider audience and circulated extensively through films, television and advertising. His subsequent work has included ambient and more song-based recordings, alongside writing, photography and directing, moving between dance culture and music intended for quieter listening.
