Biography

Person.

Pat O’Dell, professionally known as Patrick O’Dell, is a photographer and director associated with skateboarding and independent music. In 2004 he began Epicly Later’d as an online photographic diary of New York’s skate, music and downtown scenes. It developed into a VICE documentary series built around skateboarders’ lives and careers.

O’Dell also directed Dumb: The Story of Big Brother Magazine and films for Vans, and made music videos for artists including Morrissey, Wavves and Best Coast. His early blog photographs were later collected by Anthology Editions with editor Jesse Pearson, bringing a record of 2000s subculture from the web into print.
