Eric Serra

Eric Serra is a French composer and musician closely associated with the films of Luc Besson. A guitarist and bassist before entering film scoring, he worked with singer Jacques Higelin and began collaborating with Besson on the short L’Avant Dernier, followed by Le Dernier Combat.

His scores include Subway, Le Grand Bleu, Nikita, Léon and The Fifth Element. Le Grand Bleu earned him the César for music in 1989. Beyond Besson’s films, he composed for the James Bond film GoldenEye, and released the solo album R.X.R.A. in 1998.
