Biography
Person.
Nick Gazin is an illustrator, writer and art director associated with VICE's New York edition and with independent music. His drawings bring together comics, punk graphics and the visual culture of skateboarding. As VICE's art editor, he also commissioned other illustrators and wrote about images and artists.
Gazin created the cover artwork for Run the Jewels' 2013 debut, helping establish the duo's recognisable visual identity. In discussing that work, he cited comic artists Gilbert Hernandez and Mike Allred alongside Santa Cruz skateboard graphics. His career connects magazine illustration with record sleeves and music merchandise, giving underground graphic references a wider audience.
