Madi Ju is a Chinese photographer, editor and producer from Wuhan. After university, she worked on magazines before becoming a freelance photographer, developing personal work around friends, travel and the social spaces of a younger generation. She also helped establish the electronic magazine After 17.
Her later career has crossed writing, editing, video production and management. As a founding partner of Yi Shi Yi Se, the company associated with VICE China, she worked on media directed towards Chinese youth audiences. She served on the short-film screening panel for World Press Photo's 2020 Digital Storytelling Contest.
