Jamie Burton

Jamie Burton is an illustrator and artist whose career has moved from comic-book inking into games, painting and poster design. Born in Indiana, he studied at the John Herron School of Art and the Joe Kubert School before working as an inker for DC Comics.

He subsequently developed concept and environmental art for the games industry while continuing an independent painting practice. His work uses strong colour contrasts, patterns and unusual characters, often combining fanciful settings with humour. Working in media including pencil, ink, acrylic, oil and digital tools, Burton connects the drawn image with both printed storytelling and constructed virtual environments.
