Biography
Person.
Mike W. Barr is an American writer of comics, mystery fiction and science fiction whose career has repeatedly combined the structures of genre storytelling with established popular characters. His best-known comics work includes Camelot 3000, Batman and the Outsiders, Batman: Son of the Demon, Detective Comics and The Maze Agency, alongside an unusually broad run of Star Trek writing across multiple generations of the franchise.
Barr’s Batman work ranges from supernatural and science-fiction premises to detective stories and character studies, helping demonstrate how elastic the character could be during the 1980s and early 1990s. In 1991 he wrote Faith, the three-part Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight story drawn by Bart Sears, which centres on the consequences of Batman inspiring another man to take violent action in Gotham.
