Mick Jones is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and producer who co-founded the Clash. His work with the group helped move British punk towards reggae, funk and other musical forms. After leaving in 1983, he formed Big Audio Dynamite with Don Letts, combining rock instrumentation with samples, film dialogue and dance rhythms.
He later produced the Libertines' debut album Up the Bracket, connecting his experience in the Clash with a new generation of London musicians. His work across these projects links punk songwriting, studio experimentation and the changing relationship between guitar music and club culture.
