Sanford Greene

Sanford Greene is an American comics artist whose work includes superhero publishing and original fantasy stories. His credits range across Marvel, DC, Dark Horse and Image, including Power Man and Iron Fist and artwork featuring Black Panther and Luke Cage. He has also developed the digital series 1000.

Greene co-created Bitter Root, a story of monster hunters set against the Harlem Renaissance. Its mixture of historical setting and speculative imagery places Black characters and cultural history at the centre of its fantasy world. The Columbia Museum of Art presented Shades of Greene in 2019, an exhibition surveying his illustration and comics work.
