Biography
Person.
Paul Hogan is an Australian actor, comedian and screenwriter who developed his screen persona through television comedy. A former Sydney Harbour Bridge rigger, he attracted attention with a comic appearance on the talent programme New Faces in 1971. He subsequently worked on A Current Affair and made The Paul Hogan Show with John Cornell.
Hogan became internationally familiar through Australian tourism advertising and Crocodile Dundee, the 1986 comedy in which he starred as Mick Dundee. He shared the film’s screenplay credit with Cornell and Ken Shadie. Its success carried his humorous image of Australian masculinity from domestic television into international popular cinema.
