Biography
Person.
Mitzi Lorenz is a stylist and art director associated with the Buffalo creative circle that formed around Ray Petri in 1980s London. The network brought together photographers, musicians, models and stylists, including Jamie Morgan, Mark Lebon, Neneh Cherry and the Kamen brothers, and helped shape the fashion imagery of The Face.
Her work also included art direction for the French magazine Jill, notably a 1985 story photographed by J.-J. Castres. Alongside other independent magazine stylists, she helped make fashion photography a setting for experimentation with identity, clothing and the visual language of youth culture.
