Biography
Person.
Georgina Godley is a British fashion designer with a background in fine art. After working in design and illustration, she partnered with Scott Crolla on the Crolla label and boutique, before developing collections under her own name during the 1980s.
Her 1986 Lumps and Bumps collection used padding beneath stretch dresses to alter the body’s outline. Inspired by fertility figures, it challenged contemporary expectations of the female silhouette. Godley developed its shapes by modelling clay onto dolls before translating them into garments. Examples of her work are held by the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
