Person.
Amerie is a singer, songwriter and author whose recordings connect R&B with funk and pop. Working with producer Rich Harrison, she released All I Have in 2002 and Touch in 2005. The latter included 1 Thing; both the song and album received Grammy nominations in 2006.
A Georgetown University graduate in English, she has also developed a literary career. She edited Because You Love to Hate Me, an anthology that retells stories from villains’ perspectives, bringing her interest in fiction alongside her work in music.
