Dieter Meier

Dieter Meier is a Swiss musician, artist and filmmaker best known as the vocalist in Yello with Boris Blank. Born in Zurich in 1945, he began making conceptual and performance work in the late 1960s, using time, repetition and staged situations as artistic material.

His practice also includes writing, film direction and the music videos made for Yello. A retrospective of his art and the Yello years was presented in Hamburg in 2011 and at Karlsruhe’s ZKM in 2012, bringing his musical and visual work into a shared exhibition context.
