Vincent Cassel

Vincent Cassel is a French actor whose collaboration with Mathieu Kassovitz brought him international attention through La Haine. He subsequently worked across French and international cinema, with roles in Read My Lips, Irréversible and the two-part Mesrine, for which he won the César for best actor.

His English-language films include Ocean’s Twelve, David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises and Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan. He also worked with Danny Boyle on Trance. Moving between crime films, psychological drama and larger commercial productions, Cassel has built a career around characters whose physical energy and instability are often central to the story.
