Marcelo Maiolo is a Brazilian comics colourist from Piracicaba. He studied advertising at UNIMEP while developing his skills in design and illustration independently, beginning work for DC Comics around the end of his degree.
His credits include I, Vampire, Green Arrow, All-New X-Men and Old Man Logan. Maiolo describes colour as a tool for narrative and emotion, adapting his approach to each artist's drawing and the needs of the script. His use of sharply restricted colour in moments of surprise is intended to direct attention to an image's dramatic impact rather than to decorative effects.
