Biography
Person.
Malcolm McLaren (1946–2010) was a British music manager, performer and designer whose work crossed fashion, records and popular culture. With Vivienne Westwood, he developed the shop at 430 King's Road, London, from Let It Rock into later incarnations including SEX and Seditionaries. Their clothing became closely associated with British punk.
McLaren managed the Sex Pistols and worked with other groups, including Bow Wow Wow. His own recordings include Duck Rock, Fans and Waltz Darling, drawing on styles ranging from hip-hop to opera and dance music. His projects frequently linked musical production with clothing, imagery and performance.
