Biography
Person.
Darius Khondji is a cinematographer whose work spans European and American cinema. He studied film in New York and trained through camera-department work in France before his breakthrough on Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Marc Caro’s Delicatessen in 1991.
His collaborations include The City of Lost Children, David Fincher’s Seven, Bernardo Bertolucci’s Stealing Beauty and Alan Parker’s Evita. His lighting and photographic processes often give films strongly differentiated colour worlds. The American Society of Cinematographers recognised his career with its International Award in 2023.
