Hattie Collins

Hattie Collins is a music journalist and author who has documented grime since its emergence in the early 2000s. She has worked as music editor of i-D and contributed to publications including The Guardian, The Sunday Times and Man About Town.

Her book This Is Grime, made with photographer Olivia Rose and published in 2016, brings together the voices and portraits of the musicians and other participants who shaped the scene. It follows grime from its early independent networks into wider British musical culture and was shortlisted for the 2017 Penderyn Music Book Prize.
