Angela Murray is a fashion designer and co-founder, with Stuart Vern, of Murray & Vern. The partnership became known for experimental latex clothing and for bringing the visual codes of fetish dress into fashion, performance and club culture in Manchester and London. Its original design archive covers the period from 1984 to 2002.
Murray & Vern's work extended into performance: in 1999 the pair collaborated with Johny Brown as Monsanto Technique at London's Strongroom Studios. Murray later discussed the label's origins for the documentary Queerchester. The clothing, photographs and printed material surrounding the label record an exchange between underground nightlife and commercial fashion.
