Mathias Vriens

Mathias Vriens, more usually credited as Matthias Vriens, is a Dutch photographer, editor and art director. After an injury ended his training in ballet, he moved into fashion imagery. He became editor-in-chief of Dutch magazine and later worked in creative roles at Giorgio Armani and Gucci, including under Tom Ford.

His photographs have appeared in publications including The Face, i-D, Numéro and Vogue. His later work also encompasses interiors and decoration. Across these fields, he has combined making photographs with directing the visual identity of magazines, fashion houses and domestic spaces.
