Marcus Piggott is a Welsh-born fashion photographer and one half of the partnership Mert and Marcus, with Mert Alas. The two met in Hastings in 1994 and established a studio in east London; their first joint photographs appeared in Dazed & Confused three years later.
Their work includes campaigns for fashion houses such as Gucci, Givenchy and Miu Miu, and portraits of performers including Madonna and Björk. Their highly finished images often use digital manipulation, a practice documented in Taschen’s monograph Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
