Biography
Person.
Christopher Lambert is a French actor whose mid-1980s breakthrough made him an unusually international screen presence, moving between French art cinema, British production and Hollywood genre film. After early French roles, he reached a wider audience as the adult Tarzan in Hugh Hudson’s Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes in 1984.
The following year he starred in Luc Besson’s Subway as the fugitive Fred, a performance that won him the 1986 César Award for best actor and placed him at the centre of a highly stylised new strain of French popular cinema. Lambert then became permanently associated with fantasy film through Highlander in 1986, playing the immortal Connor MacLeod.
