Patrick Cox is a Canadian-British footwear designer whose career developed through London fashion and club culture. He trained at Cordwainers College, graduating in 1985, and worked with Vivienne Westwood before launching his own label and first collection in 1986.
His Wannabe loafers became closely associated with 1990s fashion, while his broader work has included collaborations with John Galliano, Geox and Sophia Webster. Cox has described shoes in architectural terms, with an interior, exterior and supporting structure. His later label Doors of Perception continues his interest in footwear design. In 2025 he returned to the Cordwainers community as the guest speaker at its annual footwear awards.
