Sasha Pivovarova

Sasha Pivovarova is a Russian model and artist whose interests in drawing and painting preceded her fashion career. She studied art history in Moscow before photographs taken by Igor Vishnyakov led to representation by IMG in 2005. Her early runway work for Prada developed into an international career with designers and magazines including Dior and Vogue.

She has continued making paintings, illustrations and sculpture alongside modelling, exhibiting work in Paris and New York. Emma Summerton cast her as The Painter for the 2023 Pirelli Calendar, explicitly connecting the fashion portrait with Pivovarova’s own artistic practice.
