Biography

Person.

Christopher Nemeth (1959–2010) was a British artist and fashion designer born in Birmingham. After studying painting at Camberwell, he taught himself pattern cutting and sewing, making garments from salvaged canvas and Royal Mail sacks and selling them at London's Kensington Market.

He collaborated closely with photographer Mark Lebon and stylist Judy Blame, and later settled in Tokyo. His practice extended across clothing, painting and furniture, treating garments as a form of artistic expression. His designs have featured in museum exhibitions including the V&A's Club to Catwalk.
