Kris Van Assche

Kris Van Assche is a Belgian fashion designer trained at Antwerp's Royal Academy of Fine Arts. He moved to Paris after graduating and worked with Hedi Slimane at Yves Saint Laurent and Dior Homme before developing his own label. His menswear has explored the meeting of formal tailoring with contemporary youth and street culture.

Van Assche served as artistic director of Dior Homme from 2007 to 2018, then became creative director of Berluti. He left Berluti in 2021. Across these positions and his independent collections, his work has revisited the suit, using proportion, styling and unexpected combinations to test how traditional menswear can respond to the present.
