Chris Sprouse

Chris Sprouse is an American comics artist whose clean line, controlled anatomy and mid-century design sensibility have made him especially effective on science fiction and superhero stories. After early professional work including Legionnaires, Sprouse became internationally known through Tom Strong, the series he co-created with Alan Moore for America’s Best Comics.

That collaboration used pulp adventure, optimistic science fiction and the history of superhero design as material for a deliberately lucid, elegant visual world. Sprouse has also worked across Batman, Superman, Star Wars, X-Men and creator-led projects including Warren Ellis’s Ocean.
