Stuart Vern

Stuart Vern is a fashion designer and co-founder, with Angela Murray, of Murray & Vern. The label's latex clothing linked experimental fashion to the fetish and club scenes of Manchester and London. Its original partnership produced a body of clothing and imagery now represented in the designers' archive of work from 1984 to 2002.

After the partnership ended in the early 2000s, Vern continued with its diffusion label Pure and worked in film and commercial production. He also collaborated with Murray and Johny Brown on the performance project Monsanto Technique. His career extends the label's interest in material, spectacle and the dressed body into other forms of creative production.
