Roger McKenzie

Roger McKenzie (1950–2026) was an American comics writer whose early work appeared in Warren’s Creepy and Vampirella and DC’s mystery anthologies. He became a Marvel writer in the late 1970s, contributing to Captain America, Battlestar Galactica and Ghost Rider.

On Daredevil he developed a darker, crime-inflected approach, working with Frank Miller before Miller took over the writing. McKenzie also wrote for smaller publishers and co-created the science-fiction series Sun Runners with artist Pat Broderick. He died in August 2026.
