Biography
Person.
Mihara Yasuhiro is a Japanese fashion designer who began by making shoes while studying textile design at Tama Art University. Born in Nagasaki in 1972, he established his label in 1996, developing footwear through a self-taught approach before extending the work into clothing collections.
His designs use unexpected proportions, combinations and alterations to familiar garments. Alongside his own label, he collaborated with Puma on products that connected sportswear with fashion design. Shoes remain an important part of a practice that treats everyday clothing as material for experiment and visual play.
