Biography
Person.
Steven Rosati is a Canadian portrait artist and coin designer. He studied fine art, portrait painting and graphic design in Montreal and Toronto, developing an oil-painting practice informed by historical portraiture. His work seeks to combine a recognisable likeness with a sense of the sitter's character.
In 2023 the Royal Canadian Mint selected his portrait of Charles III for Canadian coinage. The design shows the King uncrowned and facing left, and was translated into relief by the Mint's production team. Unveiled in Winnipeg that November, it subsequently appeared across circulation, collector and bullion coins.
