Pierpaolo Ferrari is an Italian photographer whose work combines advertising, editorial photography and deliberately surreal imagery. Raised in Milan, he began specialising in advertising in the 1990s and co-founded the art magazine Le Dictateur with Federico Pepe in 2006.
In 2010 Ferrari and artist Maurizio Cattelan established Toiletpaper after a joint commission for W magazine. The project developed from a magazine into a creative studio, working with art director Micol Talso across campaigns, books, exhibitions and product design. Its collaborations include Kenzo, Seletti and Gufram, while its imagery has also appeared on record covers for Daft Punk and Cassius.
