RZA is the stage name of Robert Diggs, an American rapper, producer and filmmaker central to the formation and sound of the Wu-Tang Clan. After recording as Prince Rakeem, he became the group’s principal producer, shaping the densely layered sound of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) in 1993.
His solo projects include the Bobby Digital records, while his film work has developed alongside his music. He composed music for Jim Jarmusch’s Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai and directed and starred in The Man with the Iron Fists, released in 2012. These projects connect hip-hop production with martial-arts cinema and film storytelling.
