Rick Veitch is an American comics writer and artist from Vermont. His early work included underground comix with his brother Tom Veitch, followed by training at the Joe Kubert School and contributions to Heavy Metal and Epic Illustrated.
He drew Swamp Thing during Alan Moore’s run and subsequently became its writer. His own publishing venture, King Hell Press, issued works including Brat Pack, The Maximortal and the dream comic Rare Bit Fiends. Other projects include The One, Greyshirt, Can’t Get No and Army@Love. His work uses superhero conventions, satire and dream imagery to explore the less reassuring sides of American popular culture.
