Nick Kamen (1962–2021) was a singer and model associated with British fashion and pop in the 1980s. His image appeared in photographs by Jamie Morgan and in Levi’s widely recognised launderette advertisement, connecting his modelling career with the period’s music and advertising culture.
His single Each Time You Break My Heart, written and produced by Madonna and Stephen Bray, reached number five in Britain in 1986. His self-titled debut album followed in 1987, beginning a recording career that included further albums and remixed dance singles.
