Michael Jackson

Michael Jackson was a singer, songwriter and dancer who moved from childhood success with the Jackson 5 to a solo career that reshaped international pop. Off the Wall combined soul, funk and disco, while Thriller brought rock and R&B into an album accompanied by ambitious music videos. Bad and Dangerous further developed the relationship between his recordings, choreography and screen image.

Songs such as Billie Jean, Beat It and Black or White reached audiences across musical genres. His performances and films helped make dance, costume and the extended music video central components of the presentation of a pop artist.
