Spencer Leigh

Spencer Leigh is an English actor from Liverpool who came to prominence as Icky Higson in Willy Russell’s television drama One Summer. During the 1980s he became associated with a generation of young British actors receiving attention in film and style magazines.

His subsequent work included a sustained collaboration with Derek Jarman, appearing in Caravaggio, The Last of England and The Garden. These films connected his acting with the experimental cinema and visual culture surrounding Jarman. Leigh later moved to the United States, worked in television-commercial direction and appeared as Nunzio in Hitchcock in 2012.
