Biography
Person.
Siobhan Fahey is a singer and songwriter who co-founded Bananarama with Sara Dallin and Keren Woodward. Their friendship developed around London’s music and fashion scenes, and the group’s records included Venus and Robert De Niro’s Waiting. Fahey left Bananarama in 1988 and formed Shakespears Sister.
That project developed a contrasting visual and musical identity, with Stay becoming a major British hit. Fahey continued releasing music under the Shakespears Sister name and returned to Bananarama for the original line-up’s 2017 reunion tour. Her career connects the informal style of early Bananarama with a darker, more theatrical approach to pop.
