Biography
Person.
Nick Heyward is a British singer and songwriter who first became known as the frontman and principal writer of Haircut One Hundred. The group’s songs, including “Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)”, “Love Plus One” and “Fantastic Day”, brought bright guitar pop, funk and brass arrangements into early-1980s British pop.
His solo debut North of a Miracle, made with producer Geoff Emerick, appeared in 1983. Later records included From Monday to Sunday and its single “Kite”, followed by Tangled and The Apple Bed, the latter released through Creation. Woodland Echoes, released in 2017, continued his work as a songwriter outside the band that first established his name.
