George Harrison (1943–2001) was an English guitarist, singer and songwriter who became internationally known with the Beatles. His interest in Indian classical music, particularly through Ravi Shankar, expanded the musical influences heard in his work. His solo recordings included All Things Must Pass and Brainwashed.
In 1971, Harrison helped organise the Concert for Bangladesh with Shankar at Madison Square Garden, bringing musicians together to raise awareness and support for people affected by the crisis. His book I Me Mine combined recollections with song lyrics and commentary on his writing.
