Jazzie B is a British DJ, producer and founder of Soul II Soul. Born in Hornsey, north London, in 1963, he developed the collective from the sound-system partnership he shared with Daddae. Their early reggae selections broadened to include soul and funk, connecting local dances with a growing club audience.
Soul II Soul reached an international audience with Keep on Movin’ and Back to Life. Jazzie also developed a separate career in production and broadcasting, and received an OBE for services to music in 2008.
