Marc Bolan

Marc Bolan (1947–1977), born Mark Feld, was a British singer, guitarist and songwriter who led Tyrannosaurus Rex and T. Rex. His early work drew on psychedelic folk before he adopted a more electric sound and a flamboyant stage image that helped establish glam rock.

With T. Rex, songs including Get It On made Bolan a major figure in early-1970s British pop. His style influenced the New Romantics, and his 1977 television series Marc showcased emerging punk and new-wave performers. He died in 1977, and T. Rex were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2020.
